Senior Software Engineer

To qualify for this position you must have at least 4 years of programming experience with a minimum of 2 using C++ and Visual Basic in a 32-bit environment, have  project experience with development of industrial control software using stepper/servo motors and monitoring of I/O for sensors and actuators.   Your background should include software testing, documentation and Object Oriented Design.
Experience with GUI design, and image processing is a plus.

A degree in engineering or computer sciences is required.


The successful candidate will:
Conduct software design and analysis with direction from the Lead Software Engineer.  Develop and write code in Visual C++® and VisualBasic® targeted for Windows® 95/98 and Windows NT® platform based machine vision applications.  Participate in organization and direction of complex software projects.  Conduct independent investigations, evaluating the suitability of technology, developing new algorithms, and implementation of algorithms.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Design development and implementation of software systems
  • Developing and coding of software objects to facilitate intuitive development environment for clients and customers
  • Developing and writing  device drivers for Windows NT/95/98 to support hardware/software compatibility
  • Design of machine vision algorithms and support of frame grabbers for image acquisition
  • Develop engineering specifications to support assigned tasks
  • Act as customer liaison and technical support to respond to new requirements and analysis of reported software issues

Participate in the design and development of major phases of complex software projects.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Design development and implementation of software modules in compliance with standards and coding practices for Object Oriented Design and Structured Coding
  • Developing and writing dynamically linked libraries for Windows NT/95/98 to support software distribution
  • Developing machine vision algorithms from engineering specifications
  • Researching operating system development guidelines to support assigned tasks
  • Develop GUI's for machine vision applications
